1SGT Brown has listed below the requirements for a VDF soldier; regulations, 72-hour load, etc. Among these, a VDF soldier requires four FEMA courses: 100, 200, 700, and 800 and Orientation, IIA, and NCOLD training test. For the MP company there is also a Guard Test. Visit the main VDF website here to access a link to each of these training materials. 

Further training is always encouraged. If you join the VDF MP Co. you will get training in the full METL within a year or so. This includes baton training, vehicle checks and personal checks, guard duty, and many other duties held by a military police personnel in the Virginia Defense Force.
